who can use ohhi

you need to be 18 or older and a current student at a campus we've opened. you verify with a school email, then a student id and a selfie before you can talk to anyone. one person, one account.

using ohhi means you agree to these terms and to the community guidelines. if you don't, don't use it — that's a real option and we won't make it hard.

what you agree to

• be yourself — your real photos, the name people at school know you by, accurate information about who you are
• don't harass, threaten, impersonate, sell, spam, or share anyone else's private information
• don't scrape the grid, automate the app, reverse-engineer it, or try to work out where someone physically is
• don't share, screenshot, or repost anything from someone's profile, album, or messages outside ohhi
• keep your account yours — don't lend it, sell it, or let someone else use it

your photos and words are yours

you own everything you put on ohhi. you give us only what we need to run the app: permission to show your profile to other verified students at your campus, and to deliver your messages to the people you send them to. that permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

we will never use your photos in our own marketing without asking you separately and getting a yes in writing.

free, and staying free

the grid, hi's, and chat are free and we intend to keep them that way. there are no ads, no paid boosts, and nothing that lets someone buy their way in front of you. if that ever changes, the parts listed in this paragraph stay free.

leaving, and being asked to leave

you can delete your account from settings whenever you want — one step, and everything tied to it is gone within 30 days.

we can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or the guidelines. we'll tell you why, unless telling you would put someone else at risk. serious things — threats, anything involving a minor, non-consensual images — are a permanent ban with no warning, and we report them where the law requires or common sense demands.

what ohhi isn't

verification tells you someone is a real, 18+ student at your school. it does not tell you they're a good person, and we don't run criminal background checks — nobody can do that reliably. you're meeting strangers, which is the point, and the judgement about who to meet and where stays yours.

ohhi is provided as is. we're a small team, the app will have bugs, and it will change as we learn from campus testing. we're not responsible for what other people do, on the app or off it, and to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited.

the legal bits

ohhi is operated by spark n code llc, gurnee, illinois. these terms are governed by illinois law, and disputes belong in the state or federal courts sitting in lake county, illinois.

this is the plain-language version written while we're pre-launch; a lawyer reviews it before the app opens, and we'll post the final version here.
